If you have heard the news today, the big
headline is radio disk-jockey Don Imus being
suspended for making unprofessional comments
on the air. Mr. Imus has a reputation for
saying things that gets him into trouble and
he recently did so regarding FlatSigned and
our book autographed, limited edition from
the late President Gerald R. Ford. Live, and
on the air, Don Imus called us "bastards" and
accused us of waiting to release the book
until he died and thereby taking advantage of
the death of a late president. What Don Imus
could of easily discovered was that we
published the book he was talking about, the
autographed edition, three years prior to the
passing of President Ford. Plus, I worked
directly with President Ford and his staff to
complete this book for President Ford to be
part of his legacy. President Ford was so
proud of this book that he gifted copies to
his friends including Vice President Cheney
and many, many others. Don Imus lied to his
listeners about information that was easily
available to him and the world by doing a
simple, Google search. Instead he chose to
lie in a cheap attempt at humor about
something that wasn't even funny. That may
be the worst thing of all for someone who is
supposed to be an entertainer and someone who
speaks to the world via airwaves that belong
to the US public.

This week marks a milestone in
our history - ten years ago this week
FlatSigned Books began! In the very
beginning there was no website, no employees
and only a few dozen books in my personal
collection. Some of you may of heard the
story along the way but I want to share with
all of you how and why this company was born.
In next weeks newsletter I will share with
you the very interesting story of why I
started selling books. That story involves
the IRS, John Grisham, and Stephen King.
Today I want to share with you the world wide
release of the final memoir from the late
President Gerald R. Ford which is published

selection of seven astronauts who would be
the first Americans in space, referred to as
the "Mercury 7." M. Scott Carpenter, L.
Gordon, John H. Glenn Jr., Virgil I. "Gus"
Grissom, Walter M. Schirra, Alan B. Shepard,
and Donald K. "Deke" Slayton were selected
for the United States' first manned
spaceflight program. It ran from 1959 through
1963 with the goal of putting a man in orbit

foundation for man's increased exploration of
space which eventually led to man landing on
the moon in 1969, one of the most incredible
